About the role:
 
This Regional Business Managers role, with a scope more akin to a General Manager, is a key opportunity for an experienced career minded Regional, Ops or Sales Manager who is focused on a career pathway to General Management. The successful candidate will lead a high performing team and profit-generating business, you will manage financial targets, drive the sustainability agenda, and secure key projects across the commercial, residential, industrial, energy, and renewables market, in a rapidly growing region. The role involves overseeing 5 direct leadership reports, with a total team of 55+ employees in this successful business unit.
 
Based locally, the role requires relocation to the region, ideally central to Gippsland, where the regional office is located. Key responsibilities also include supporting plant upgrades, leading strategic customer engagement activities, managing several regional sites and a large fleet of company assets, all while maintaining a high level of team engagement. This position has become available due to the previous incumbent's internal promotion, highlighting potential for career progression within this large national complex organisation.
 
Skills & Experience:
 
The ideal candidate will have clear GM career aspirations however will not already be a seasoned GM, demonstrating strong leadership and executive presence. While experience in the building materials industry is beneficial, candidates with exposure coming from large corporate complex industrial multisite operations will be highly regarded. Essential capabilities include a strong commercial sense, financial literacy (managing budgets, P&L understanding), and a robust safety focus with a growth mindset. The individual must be able to drive sustainability initiatives and effectively lead and gain the respect of a diverse team.  The successful candidate must be willing to relocate to and reside in the Gippsland region.
