The Role of Purchasing and Inventory Manager will lead a team of three Purchasing Analysts and be responsible for the day-to-day execution of purchasing activities across multiple global brands. You'll oversee the end-to-end purchase order process, manage supplier performance, work closely with logistics and quality teams, and ensure products are delivered on time, in full and to specification.
Responsibilities
- Manage the end-to-end purchase order process from placement through to supplier delivery.
- Build strong relationships with global suppliers to ensure on-time, in-full and to-spec delivery.
- Monitor supplier performance through KPIs and scorecards, driving accountability and continuous improvement.
- Lead, coach and develop a team of three Purchasing Analysts across multiple brands.
- Work closely with Logistics to determine freight requirements, balancing cost and service outcomes.
- Partner with Quality, Regulatory and Product teams to ensure artwork approvals, compliance and product readiness are achieved.
- Maintain high levels of data integrity across purchasing and inventory systems.
- Prioritise competing demands, escalate risks proactively and ensure continuity of supply.
- Support ongoing ERP and systems improvement initiatives, contributing to process optimisation and automation opportunities.
- Assist in managing inventory levels and working capital through effective purchasing practices.
We're Looking For
- Experience within FMCG, retail or another product-based environment.
- Previous experience in Purchasing, Inventory Management, Replenishment or Supply Planning with purchasing exposure.
- Experience leading a team
- Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage complex transactional processes accurately.
- Confidence challenging suppliers and holding them accountable to agreed service levels.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.
- Strong systems capability, with ERP experience (NetSuite exposure advantageous but not essential).
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach with the ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
