Six Degrees Executive are proud to be partnering with a well-established, privately owned artisan food manufacturer on the appointment of a Production Manager to lead its bakery manufacturing operation.
With a long-standing reputation for producing premium handcrafted products, the business has built a loyal customer base and continues to experience steady growth. Supplying multiple retail locations, they are investing in their production capability and are seeking an experienced leader to help drive the next phase of their expansion. This appointment comes at a great time - significant recent growth in the last couple of years, intention of expansion of their retail offering and a future new production site earmarked.


About the role
As Production Manager, you'll oversee daily bakery production across a diverse product range, ensuring exceptional quality standards are consistently achieved and products are delivered on schedule. This is a hands-on leadership role where you'll lead and develop a dedicated team while identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, production performance, product innovation and team culture.
Key responsibilities include:
  • Managing end-to-end production across a broad bakery product portfolio including bread, pastry, savoury and specialty products.
  • Planning and coordinating daily and weekly production schedules to meet customer demand.
  • Leading, coaching and developing production teams to achieve quality, safety and performance objectives.
  • Driving continuous improvement initiatives across production processes, workflow and cost management.
  • Maintaining high standards of food safety, hygiene and regulatory compliance.
What we are looking for:
  • Hands-on experience within a commercial bakery or large-scale food production environment, ideally with a background as a baker or pastry professional.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience in a production, bakery or manufacturing management position.
  • Strong knowledge of bakery production planning, scheduling and operational best practice.
  • A passion for producing high-quality products and driving continuous improvement.
  • The ability to build engaged, high-performing teams through visible and supportive leadership.
