Our client is a large, ASX-listed services organisation, recognised as a market leader in its sector across Australia. As part of a significant strategic transformation, the organisation is centralising its commercial function and formally establishing contract management as a core enterprise capability for the first time.
Organisational Context
Contract management has been identified as a critical gap and a priority investment area for the business. At present, the organisation has no centralised contract management competency: contracts are held disparately across the business, including at an individual level, with no central repository, no formal mobilisation process, and no dedicated function overseeing contract administration or execution. This is supported by a small legal team and a single national Senior Contracts Advisor, creating a genuine prioritisation constraint across a large and complex customer base.
This gap has been identified as material to enterprise risk, with direct implications for revenue protection, dispute resolution, and the retention of key customer relationships. Establishing this capability is now a formal priority for the organisation's leadership.
The Opportunity
This is a newly created role and a genuine build mandate. There is no existing contract management office to inherit; the successful candidate will be responsible for establishing the function from the ground up, bringing together a number of disparate resources and processes into a single, coherent contract management framework, while concurrently managing live commercial and customer issues as they arise.
Reporting directly to the EGM Sales, this is an enterprise-critical, highly visible role with a clearly articulated pathway to broader general management responsibility.
Key Responsibilities
This is a rare opportunity to build an enterprise-critical function from the ground up within a large, nationally significant, ASX-listed organisation. The role has genuine influence over how the business manages commercial risk, revenue protection, and its most important customer relationships, and a clearly defined pathway to senior leadership beyond the role itself.
Six Degrees Executive acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we work and live. We are also committed to equal opportunity and strive to promote diversity, inclusion, belonging, flexibility, and accessibility in all that we do.
Should you require assistance in your interactions with us or through a recruitment process, please let us know so we can provide adjustments for you.

Key Responsibilities
- Contract Management Framework & Repository — Design and implement a contract management framework, central repository, and best-practice standards where none currently exist, including the integration of contract data, pricing mechanisms, and renewal dates into the organisation's CRM environment
- Commercial & Risk Ownership — Lift contract administration and dispute resolution discipline across the business, with particular focus on the organisation's highest-value accounts, maintaining a clear line to enterprise risk management and protecting revenue and relationship tenure
- Customer & Relationship Management — Operate in a genuinely customer-facing capacity, engaging directly with senior business owners to achieve mutually beneficial outcomes on contract execution and dispute resolution, while managing internal stakeholder expectations through the establishment of a new function
- Pricing & Commercial Data Integrity — Partner closely with the Pricing function to ensure commercial terms and price mechanisms are accurately captured and maintained within the CRM
- Team Leadership — Provide direct leadership to a team, with a clear mandate to design and evolve the function's future structure as it matures
- Demonstrated, hands-on experience building a contract management function within a large, multi-site, operationally complex organisation — genuine "zero to one" build experience, rather than the optimisation or administration of an existing function
- A track record spanning contract administration, mobilisation, and dispute resolution, with the commercial and interpersonal credibility to operate across both legal and commercial disciplines
- Proven ability to operate effectively within a large, matrixed corporate structure, and to influence senior stakeholders in the absence of established process
- Background in B2B or industrial sectors — such as logistics, transport, infrastructure, construction, or environmental and industrial services — is highly regarded
- Comfortable operating in complex, multi-site, operationally intensive environments with established safety protocols
- A genuinely customer-facing orientation, with demonstrated success resolving disputes and protecting long-term relationship tenure
- Clear aspiration toward broader general management responsibility, given this role's mandate to shape and grow the function over time
