Senior Manager - Go To Market Leader (Financial Services)
Senior Manager, Financial Services Go-to-Market
Join one of the world’s leading professional services and consulting organisations, advising some of Australia’s largest and most complex businesses on the issues shaping their future. With deep expertise spanning strategy, transformation, technology, risk, deals, tax and assurance, the organisation works at the heart of major industry change. Its teams partner with senior executives and Boards to navigate complex challenges, respond to disruption and identify new opportunities for growth. Financial Services represents one of the firm’s largest and most strategically important industry portfolios. The practice has grown strongly over recent years and sees significant further opportunity across Banking, Insurance and Superannuation/Asset & Wealth Management, particularly as clients respond to technology and AI, regulatory change, evolving customer expectations and new business models. The opportunity is to be increasingly deliberate about where the firm places its bets, how it brings together expertise from across the organisation and how effectively it converts market opportunity into commercial outcomes.
The Senior Manager - Go to Market Leader (Financial Services) will sit at the centre of this agenda. This is not a traditional Marketing role, nor is it a frontline Sales position. Sitting between strategy, business development, commercial performance and execution, the role will work closely with the Financial Services Industry Leader and senior Partners to identify the highest-value opportunities and mobilise the organisation around them.
The Role
You will help shape and execute the go-to-market strategy across Financial Services, connecting market opportunity, client demand and the breadth of capability available across the firm. You will:

The Opportunity
This is a highly visible role with exposure to some of the organisation’s most senior leaders and the opportunity to operate as a close strategic partner to the Financial Services Industry Leader. Acting as an individual contributor, you will bring together Partners, account teams and specialist capabilities around the opportunities that matter most, helping a complex organisation move with greater focus and commercial intent. For someone who enjoys understanding where a market is moving, identifying the opportunity and then getting a large organisation aligned behind it, this offers an unusually broad remit within a major global professional services business.

The Role
You will help shape and execute the go-to-market strategy across Financial Services, connecting market opportunity, client demand and the breadth of capability available across the firm. You will:
- Help develop the Financial Services growth and go-to-market strategy, identifying where the organisation has the greatest opportunity to grow and translating this into clear priorities and plans.
- Build a strong understanding of Banking, Insurance and Superannuation/Asset & Wealth Management, including client priorities, buyer needs, market shifts, competitor activity and emerging demand.
- Identify and prioritise growth opportunities, determining where the organisation should invest its time and resources rather than attempting to pursue everything.
- Analyse revenue, forecasts, pipeline, conversion and account activity, identifying what is driving performance, where gaps exist and where leadership attention is required.
- Connect capabilities from across the organisation to address priority market opportunities, bringing together different areas of expertise into a coordinated client proposition.
- Partner with Account Management, Marketing, Client Insights, Brand, Operations and senior Partners to take opportunities from strategy through to market execution.
- Drive business development and pipeline discipline, using Salesforce and other systems to improve visibility, reporting and commercial follow-through.
- Ensure market activity converts into action, assessing what is generating client engagement and pipeline and where greater follow-up or investment is required.
- Lead key Financial Services planning and operating rhythms, including annual planning, business reviews, leadership meetings, town halls and broader industry engagement.
- Build connectivity across the Financial Services community, ensuring leaders understand the priorities, where the opportunities sit and how different teams can contribute.
This is an unusual hybrid profile. We’re not looking for a pure marketer, strategist or traditional salesperson, but someone who can combine strategic thinking, commercial judgement and execution. You will ideally bring:
- Strong Financial Services experience, with an understanding of Banking, Insurance and/or Superannuation/Asset & Wealth Management.
- Experience across business development, go-to-market, growth strategy, commercial strategy or proposition development, ideally within complex B2B or professional services environments.
- Strong strategic and critical thinking, with the ability to absorb complex information, identify the important themes and translate them into practical action.
- Commercial acumen, including confidence interpreting revenue, forecasts, pipeline and broader business performance and using these insights to influence priorities.
- The ability to operate effectively in ambiguous and evolving environments, balancing competing demands and determining where to focus without needing a tightly prescribed remit.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing capability, with the confidence to work directly with senior leaders and mobilise teams that don't report to you.
- The ability to connect the dots between market demand, client needs and organisational capability, creating a clear recommendation on where to focus and what should happen next.
- Clear written and verbal communication and an ability to simplify complexity for senior stakeholders.
