About the role

We are seeking an experienced Senior Category Manager to take ownership of category strategy and commercial insights across a key portfolio. This role will partner closely with Sales, Marketing and major retail customers to translate shopper, market and customer data into actionable category strategies that drive growth. You will be responsible for developing category reviews, ranging and assortment recommendations, promotional analysis, pricing and promotional strategy, market analysis and customer presentations. The role will also involve identifying whitespace opportunities, understanding shopper behaviour and using data and insights to influence both internal stakeholders and external retail partners. This is a highly visible role for someone who enjoys operating commercially, influencing customers and turning insights into tangible business outcomes.

Skills & experience 

We are looking for a commercially minded, highly experienced Category Manager with strong experience within FMCG, ideally gained in a supplier or major retail environment. You will have a strong understanding of category management principles, shopper insights, market data, ranging, pricing, promotions and commercial planning, with the ability to turn complex data into clear and compelling recommendations. Strong analytical and presentation skills are essential, as is the confidence to engage with senior stakeholders and major retail customers. The ideal candidate will be curious, commercially astute and proactive, with the ability to influence, challenge and build strong relationships across the business and with customers.
