Our client is a leading Australian retail organisation undertaking a significant supply chain transformation. As part of this, they have established a new, highly automated fulfilment operation in Sydney, combining advanced automation and sophisticated warehouse technology to support high-volume B2B and B2C fulfilment.

The Role of Inventory & Systems Manager will be the SME across WMS, WCS, automation and inventory, with a strong focus on systems and technology.

You will take ownership of the site's capability, ensuring the automation, WMS and WCS work effectively together to deliver a reliable and high-performing operation.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Lead and optimise the site's automation, WMS and WCS, working closely with technology teams and external automation partners.
  • Own inventory integrity, including accuracy, cycle counting, auditing, stocktakes and discrepancy resolution.
  • Lead system upgrades, projects and continuous improvement initiatives across the operation.
  • Troubleshoot complex systems, automation and operational issues, driving root-cause resolution.
  • Use data and operational insight to improve throughput, efficiency, accuracy and reliability.
  • Lead, develop and influence teams and stakeholders across operations, supply chain and technology.
We're looking for an experienced Inventory & Systems leader with a strong background in warehouse automation.

You'll ideally have:
  • Experience across retail, fulfilment, logistics, manufacturing or supply chain.
  • Proven experience working with WMS/WCS and automated warehouse environments.
  • Experience leading or managing automation, ideally within a greenfield or major site transformation.
  • Manhattan experience would be highly regarded, although other leading WMS platforms will be considered.
  • Previous inventory management experience, with a strong understanding of inventory integrity.
  • Leadership experience and the ability to influence across operational, technical and external stakeholder groups.
  • A hands-on, analytical and continuous improvement mindset.
