Salary: Base + 12% superannuation
Job Type: temporary
Contact: Maisie Sheffield
About the company
We’re partnering with a leading Australian FMCG organisation to recruit a Social Media Specialist for a 12–13 month fixed-term contract, commencing early December 2026.
This is an exciting opportunity for a social specialist to take genuine ownership across a portfolio of much-loved consumer brands, working across different audiences, brand personalities and content requirements.
You’ll be part of a broader PR & Social team, surrounded by a collaborative group of specialists and creative talent, with strong agency and dedicated design support.

About the role
This is a hands-on role where you’ll be responsible for bringing social activity to life across a varied brand portfolio. You’ll work closely with brand, creative and agency stakeholders to develop engaging content and identify opportunities to keep brands culturally relevant.
Your responsibilities will include:
  • Creating, curating and publishing platform-specific social content across Instagram, TikTok and other relevant channels
  • Developing and executing always-on and campaign-led social activity
  • Contributing creative ideas and helping shape social-first content
  • Managing community engagement and brand conversations
  • Working closely with internal brand teams, creative partners and agencies
  • Coordinating campaign rollouts, content production and approvals
  • Supporting influencer, affiliate and broader content initiatives
  • Keeping across social trends and identifying reactive and culturally relevant opportunities
  • Monitoring and reporting on social performance, using insights to inform future activity
  • Contributing to the ongoing evolution of social best practice

There’s plenty happening across the portfolio, including a new content series, a major affiliate programme and an AI test-and-learn project, giving you the opportunity to have genuine influence over the work.

About You
We’re looking for someone with strong social media experience who is equally comfortable thinking strategically and getting stuck into the execution.
You’ll ideally bring:
  • Strong understanding of social platforms, trends and emerging behaviours
  • Hands-on experience creating and managing social content
  • Experience working across multiple brands, audiences or stakeholders
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Experience working with agencies and creative partners
  • Excellent organisation and project management skills
  • A proactive, curious and ideas-led approach
  • The ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on delivery
  • Strong commercial awareness and an understanding of how social contributes to broader brand objectives
  • FMCG experience is highly regarded but not essential. We’re also open to candidates coming from agency, retail, consumer, lifestyle or other fast-paced environments where social has been a key part of their role.

The Team & Culture
This is a highly collaborative and energetic social environment where personality and approach are important. You’ll suit the team if you’re:
  • Naturally enthusiastic and engaged
  • Open, approachable and collaborative
  • Comfortable contributing ideas and getting involved
  • Proactive and willing to take ownership
  • Resilient and organised in a busy, high-volume environment
