Are you a commercial leader who can drive growth with Australia's major retailers and shape what goes on the shelf next?
Our client is a well-established food manufacturer with a portfolio of brands in chilled and value-added protein. They supply branded and private label products across grocery, foodservice and QSR channels, and they're known for strong values, sustainability leadership and building long-term careers.
 
The opportunity
Reporting directly to the CEO, you'll own total retail sales performance across branded and private label portfolios. You'll be the senior relationship holder for Coles, Woolworths, Aldi, Costco and Independents, and lead a team of six direct reports, with a team of 15 people in total across sales, category, customer service, NPD and brand activation.
 
What you'll do
  • Own the annual sales budget, profit targets and multi-year commercial strategy for the retail channel
  • Lead Joint Business Planning with major retailers to secure ranging, shelf space, promotional investment and innovation
  • Set category strategy, ranging, pricing architecture and trade spend ROI
  • Lead the innovation and renovation pipeline end to end, from ideation through launch and post-launch review
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Supply Chain and Technical so commercial plans are executed well
  • Coach and grow a high-performing team, with succession and capability building built in
What you'll bring
  • 10+ years in senior commercial leadership in FMCG, food manufacturing or grocery retail
  • A proven record of profitable growth with the major Australian grocers
  • Deep experience in category management, innovation pipelines and JBP
  • Strong P&L, trade spend and pricing capability, plus a data-led approach
  • A tertiary qualification in business, commerce, marketing, food science or a related field
  • Chilled, meat, poultry, smallgoods or ready-to-eat experience is highly regarded
