| Job Type: | permanent |

Our client is a well-known international consumer brand whose products are sold through retail partners in Australia and around the world. As part of a move to bring its Australian operation in-house, the organisation is establishing a local finance function for the first time.
Organisational Context
The Australian business has historically operated through a distributor model. It is now moving to sell direct, with live sales reporting in Power BI from January and a migration to Microsoft D365 under way. Group Finance runs a centre of excellence covering tax, accounting and credit risk. The Australian entity will draw on this support while building the local capability needed to run a direct business.
The Opportunity
This is a newly created role in a greenfield set-up. The successful candidate will lead finance for the Australian entity, reporting to the Country Manager with a close dotted line to the CFO and Group Finance team overseas. The role combines financial discipline with commercial partnering. The successful candidate will build a small local team while staying close to the detail through the establishment phase. As the organisation builds its APAC hub, there is scope for the role to grow with the business.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Control & Reporting: Own month-end, management reporting and sign-off for the Australian entity, ensuring compliance with Australian statutory, tax, payroll and audit requirements and with group accounting policies.
Planning & Analysis: Lead the annual budget, rolling forecasts and FP&A for Australia, working closely with the Global FP&A team to make sure assumptions are sound and consistent with group strategy.
Commercial Partnering: Act as finance partner to the Country Manager and the local sales and marketing teams, providing the analysis behind commercial decisions, business cases and cost initiatives.
Cash & Credit: Manage cash flow, working capital and local credit control with the global Credit Risk and Treasury teams, with local procedures in place to collect cash and enforce customer terms.
Systems & Data: Oversee the local instance of D365 and Power BI reporting through the transition to direct sales, giving the business accurate and controlled data.
Stakeholder Management: Build strong working relationships with Group Finance, auditors, banks and the local tax adviser, adapting global processes to suit the Australian market.
Team Leadership: Recruit and lead two direct reports, a Finance Assistant and a Credit Controller, building a team that reflects the organisation’s values.
Candidate Profile
This is an opportunity to build a finance function from the ground up within an international brand at an important stage of its Australian growth. The role carries real influence over how the business runs locally, offers close exposure to a global finance team, and sits within an organisation that is building its APAC presence.
Six Degrees Executive acknowledges the Traditional Custodians of the lands on which we work and live. We are also committed to equal opportunity and strive to promote diversity, inclusion, belonging, flexibility, and accessibility in all that we do.
