I am working with a global leader in the industrial manufacturing sector. With operations all over Australia and the world. Due to recent changes in the business they are now looking to hire an Operations manager / Site manager for one or their key Australian locations in Western Sydney.

The role is responsible for leading and optimising the end-to-end operations of two manufacturing sites. This role is accountable for delivering operational excellence across safety, quality, cost, productivity, people leadership, and continuous improvement. The Operations Manager will drive business performance through effective leadership of site teams, fostering a positive workplace culture, maintaining strong union relationships, and ensuring manufacturing operations are aligned with organisational objectives.

To be a standout candidate for this role you will possess:

  • Qualifications & Experience: 10 years work experience plus relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Lean & Continuous Improvement: Strong familiarity with Lean principles, including 5S or other operational improvement methodologies, with a history of driving efficiency and process optimisation.
  • Leadership & People Management: Demonstrated ability to lead constructively with a focus on developing teams, coupled with excellent communication skills to engage and manage people & performance across various levels.
  • Cost Management & Leadership: Expertise in managing and controlling budgets, implementing cost-saving initiatives, and achieving financial targets across sites. Ability to drive a cost-leadership approach while maintaining high safety, quality, and performance standards
  • Union relations: Skilled in building constructive relationships with union representatives and furthering a positive, inclusive environment.
  • Results-Driven: A solid track record of implementing continuous improvement initiatives, increasing operational efficiency and effectiveness across the supply chain.
  • Strategic & Innovative Mindset: Displays operational excellence, combined with strategic thinking, innovation, and the flexibility to adapt to changing environments and operational demands.
