Applications Engineer (Technical Sales Support)

Location: brisbane
Salary: $112000 per annum
Job Type: permanent
Contact: Sheldon March
Technical Product Specialist (Engineering & Sales Support) | Brisbane

Every product this Brisbane manufacturer sells, from HVAC coatings to lubricant additives, is built on graphene they produce in-house.
Their sales teams in Australia and overseas need an engineer who can explain exactly how those products perform in a customer’s application.

This role sits between sales, customers and the company’s product development, quality and production specialists.
You’ll take technical questions from the sales team and work out the answer, often with the technical specialists.

You’ll make sure each answer is validated before it reaches the customer, and your focus is technical accuracy and support.

What you’ll do
  • Build a thorough understanding of the product range, including performance, applications and limitations
  • Advise on product suitability and application variables such as environmental conditions, humidity and pH
  • Join customer calls and presentations where technical input is needed
  • Own each enquiry through to resolution, working with product development, quality and production
  • Develop FAQs, application guides and testing checklists for the sales team
  • Check and improve the answers produced by the company’s internal AI knowledge assistant

What you’ll bring
  • Experience in applications engineering, technical sales support, product support or a similar technical, customer-facing role
  • Background in coatings, lubricants, chemicals, materials or thermal management (graphene experience is not required)
  • Confidence interpreting test data and questioning assumptions before giving advice
  • The ability to explain technical detail clearly to engineers and non-technical buyers
  • The willingness to say “I’ll find out” and then follow it through

This is a permanent, full-time role based on site in Brisbane, within a close-knit team where priorities shift as products and customer needs evolve.
