Job Type: permanent

About the opportunity

We’re partnering with a well-established, highly regarded Australian food manufacturer to appoint a Maintenance Manager at one of their key production sites. It’s a senior leadership role, and you’d be taking full ownership of the site’s maintenance and asset care function. That means reliability, safety and continuous improvement across a large, complex operation.
The business is known for its long history, strong market position and real investment in its people and assets. This is a chance to shape the maintenance strategy and make a lasting difference. This role is particularly appealing due to the flagship nature of the site, the strong leadership across varying levels of the organisation and the commitment to strong asset discipline.

What you'll be doing
  • Leading and developing a multi-disciplined maintenance team, including trades, planners and engineers
  • Owning the site’s maintenance strategy, budget and asset care programs
  • Driving reliability, uptime and plant performance through preventative and predictive maintenance
  • Championing a strong safety culture and making sure the site stays compliant
  • Working closely with production, engineering and site leadership to support operational goals
  • Managing contractors, shutdowns and capital projects as required
  • Bringing continuous improvement practices to maintenance planning and execution

What we are looking for:
  • Preferrably engineering background (mechanical or electrical), plus relevant tertiary qualifications
  • Proven experience leading maintenance teams in a manufacturing or processing environment
  • A strong grounding in reliability engineering, CMMS and planned maintenance systems
  • A safety-first approach and solid knowledge of WHS obligations
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Experience with budgets and continuous improvement methods (Lean, TPM or similar) is highly regarded
