Chief Revenue Officer - Industrial Capital Equipment
Job title: Chief Revenue Officer – Clear Pathway to CEO
The organisation:
Our client is a well-established, privately held Australian industrial equipment group. It designs, sells, rents, hires and services a range of premium facility maintenance equipment through a national network of branches and mobile service technicians. Few businesses in its sector own the whole customer lifecycle like this, from capital sale to long-term rental, short-term hire, and after-sales service.
It has grown every year through both organic growth and acquisition. A 2026 acquisition opened new markets and product lines, and further strategic acquisitions are under active consideration. Revenue is tracking positively, around half of revenue comes from recurring rental and hire, and the business is already moving early on automation and robotics, which are reshaping the category.
The opportunity:
This is a newly created executive role and the business’s most important appointment. As Chief Revenue Officer you will own every revenue stream: capital equipment sales, rental and hire contracts, and service and parts. You will lead marketing, business development, and the national field sales team.
You will define the go-to-market strategy that takes the business through its next stage of growth. You will also be the clear successor to the current CEO, with a planned transition within 12 to 24 months as the CEO moves to a board and advisory role.
What you’ll do:

What you’ll do:
- Build and own the three-year revenue plan, deciding where growth comes from across sectors, regions, customer segments and the mix of sale, rental, and hire
- Shape the future go-to-market model, including territories, coverage of key, mid-market, and transactional customers, and how inside sales hands off to field sales
- Grow rental contract value while protecting gross profit and contribution margin, through disciplined pricing, contract structuring, and utilisation
- Lead a high-performing marketing and BD engine generating 300–400 leads a month, and turn it into a predictable pipeline backed by strong CRM (Salesforce) discipline
- Lift sales capability and accountability as the business moves from founder-led selling to a performance-managed national revenue team
- Drive national expansion, including Western Australia, and set a clear position against both established global brands and new low-cost and autonomous competitors
- Support acquisition integration and help find future growth opportunities
- Work closely with the owners as a trusted member of the leadership team, ready to step up to CEO
- A senior commercial leader (CRO, Sales Director, GM Sales or Commercial GM) with full accountability for revenue, margin and a multi-channel sales team, candidates with pure play marketing backgrounds will not be considered, this is a "Sales" and Marketing leadership appointment.
- A proven record of significantly scaling a business or division, ideally with exposure to organisations of $100m+
- A background in industrial capital equipment, machinery hire, and rental, B2B distribution or a related technical market.
- Experience growing rental or hire revenue alongside capital sales, and confidence negotiating high-value, long-term customer agreements
- You have built sales structures, incentive plans, and accountability from the ground up, and have led marketing and business development as well as field sales
- Strategic but hands-on: as comfortable in front of a customer as in a pipeline review, and without needing large-corporate support structures
- The leadership presence, judgement, and ambition to grow into the CEO role in a family-owned business
- A rare, clearly defined path to CEO in a profitable, growing business - this is not a turnaround, more of a growth mandate!
- Real influence over strategy, structure, and culture from day one
- An attractive executive package: Executive negotiable base salary, $25k vehicle allowance, superannuation, STI and LTI linked to the growth plan
- The backing of committed owners who are investing in growth through organic expansion and acquisition
