About the company
This company is proudly an Australian privately owned food manufacturing business that has experienced significant growth over the past couple of years across their B2C and B2B sales channels. The company is operating across multiple facilities within Melbourne with their head office in the South Eastern suburbs. Due to the growth of the organisation, they are now seeking to bring in a newly created Procurement Manager Ingredients to lead the procurement function.
About the role
Reporting through to the CFO, the Procurement Manager Ingredients will be responsible for implementing best practice sourcing methodologies predominantly across their ingredients portfolio. This includes managing key external suppliers, negotiating long term guarantee of supply whilst optimising cost savings opportunities. You will also play a pivotal part within the NPD process, influencing stakeholders across the organisation re costings, innovation and continuous improvement. As part of the role, you will be also working very closely with the GM Operations in identifying business improving opportunities.
Whilst the initial focus of the role will be across the ingredients category, this is a stand alone procurement role / function within the business and will provide the successful candidate to broaden their responsibilities across other categories within the business including packaging, facilities management, logistics et al.

Skills & Experience
- 5 – 10 years of strategic sourcing experience ideally gained from FMCG or retail industries
- Extensive experience within ingredients category, managing spend upwards of $30m
- Strong supplier management and negotiations skill
- Strong analytical and problem solving abilities
- Ideally Bachelors degree qualified
