ACEN Australia is the platform representing ACEN’s renewable energy assets in Australia. It includes several solar, wind, battery and pumped hydro projects across New South Wales, Tasmania, Victoria and South Australia in development and construction. ACEN Australia currently has two projects in Tasmania, Robbins Island and Jim’s Plain Wind, and North East Wind, both which will contribute to the realisation of the Tasmanian Governments 200% renewable energy target, vision and priorities. Reporting to the Manager Community Engagement and working closely with the project development teams, you will develop and maintain positive, lasting and mutually beneficial relationships with host communities. You will lead engagement and communications activities across the business’s growing renewable energy asset base in the Tasmanian North East & North West regions. You will:

About the role
Reporting to the Manager Community Engagement and working closely with the project development teams, you will develop and maintain positive, lasting and mutually beneficial relationships with host communities. You will lead engagement and communications activities across the business’s growing renewable energy asset base in the Tasmanian North East & North West regions. You will:
- Be the main point of contact for local communities, project neighbours and other key stakeholders
- Coordinate project level community engagement, communications and social investment activities in a trustworthy, respectful and effective way
- Work collaboratively to understand key community, stakeholder and project neighbour concerns and assist in the development of solutions and negotiation of agreements
- Develop engaging content, keeping community and stakeholders up to date
- Support the realisation of ACEN Australia's’ company level social performance activities
Skills and experience
To be successful in this role, you will meet the following criteria:
- Experience in and a keen eye for creating engaging content for digital and traditional comms platforms. Includes videos, infographics, slide packs, fact sheets and posters.
- Demonstrated success in developing, coordinating and implementing community engagement strategies and campaigns
- Demonstrated track record of community liaison in infrastructure related / large scale development projects
- Experienced in front line community relations, with a hands-on approach to engaging with a wide range of stakeholders and a track record in resolving issues
- Ability to interact with local and regional media (print, radio, television) including developing a media strategy to further the community engagement campaign
- A demonstrated understanding of regional and rural communities
- Experience with community benefit sharing and social investment programs in relation to major infrastructure projects
- Ability to unpack complex information and present to a variety of audiences in a way that is meaningful and engaging
- Passionate about the transition to an Australian energy system based on renewable energy
- Strong organisational skills, self-motivation and excellent attention to detail
- Genuine and honest with an authentic ability to relate well to a diverse range of people. Ethical, tolerant, courteous and strongly aligned with ACEN Australia's’ values
