About the company
This growing business is a proven operator and investment manager of prime Australian agriculture assets. Managing A$700m + for a global mix of private and institutional investors, the business has over 40 farms (over 60,000 hectares) within its portfolio nationwide. Key commodities include sheep, beef, wheat, canola, cotton and sugar. The business has an ongoing commitment to grow and protect their agricultural assets into the future with a robust ESG strategy. The business recognises that farmland when well managed and held over longer periods of time, has proven to be an excellent portfolio diversifier with low correlation to traditional asset classes. They also believe that the traditional private equity fund structure often creates short term incentives to prematurely exit investments leaving investors with a limited return.

About the role
In the newly created role, the remit will be to grow and develop the company’s brand, services, and corporate reputation while ensuring the very highest ethical, environmental and safety standards, to maximise sustainable long-term profits. You will own the marketing and communications plan and ensure seamless cross-channel integration is delivered – be that across owned and earned, digital and traditional, direct and the internal sales teams. You will deliver a sustainable and targeted customer acquisition strategy (identifying and developing avenues for creating opportunities for introduction or referral to target investor segment¬s), lead all digital marketing (including paid search, social, SEO and SEM), create an insights led rich content strategy and manage event / sponsorship opportunities. In addition to this, you will plan and co-ordinate the communication strategy to current and potential investors, shareholders and staff. It would be highly advantageous if you have worked with identifying and engaging prospective investor (High Net Worth and Ultra High Net Worth investors, family offices, local and overseas institutional investors etc.) who have an interest in direct ownership of Australian agricultural assets. You will also necessitate the development and maintenance of a referral network of local and overseas channel partners (private bankers, fund managers, financial advisors, professional service firms).

About You
You are a degree qualified, digitally savvy senior marketer / communications professional with 7+ years experience across B2B markets. As the most senior marketing resource in the business, you will be at ease being an “educator” internally, becoming a trusted advisor for senior stakeholders. You are at the intersection of creating and delivering on strategic marketing objectives, while still being able to be hands-on and resourceful. With deep experience in launching go-to-market strategies to market, you have multi-channel experience and love utilising customer insights to drive strategic outcomes. You are driven, autonomous, highly commercial, and looking for an ever changing environment to showcase your ability. Importantly, you can demonstrate a growth mindset, operate effectively within an ambiguous environment. A background in financial services or professional services is advantageous.
