About the role
The role will support the New England Solar construction and operations activities, as well as future expansion development activities. You will
- Integrate social performance and communications activities for New England Solar across development, construction and operations
- Embody ACEN Australia values and be part of a growing social performance and communications team across Tasmania and NSW
The Community Engagement and Project Support Officer is based in the New England Region NSW, including towns such as Tamworth, Armidale, and Uralla.
Skills and experience
- Experience with community benefit sharing and social investment programs in relation to wind and/or solar projects or other power generation or major infrastructure projects
- Experienced in front line community relations, with a hands-on approach to engaging in a wide range of stakeholders and a track record in resolving issues
- Strong organisational skills, self-motivation, and excellent attention to detail
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated success in developing, coordinating, and implementing community strategies and campaigns
- Ability to interact with local and regional media (print, radio, television) including to further the community engagement campaign
- Demonstrated track record of community liaison infrastructure-related / large-scale development projects
- A mature and considered approach, exhibiting a high degree of empathy and compassion, including the ability to see issues and impacts from other points of view, and the ability to understand and related to a diverse range of people from a wide range of backgrounds. demonstrated understanding of regional and rural communities
- Ability to unpack complex information and present to a variety of audiences in a way that is meaningful and engaging
- Champion of branding guidelines and standards, ensuring communications materials are consistent and high-quality. Experience in and a keen eye for creating engaging content for digital and traditional comms platforms. Includes videos, infographics, slide packs, fact sheets, and posters. Experience in the Canva and Wordpress platforms would be advantageous
