About the role
Working closely with the Communications Manager, you will be creating engaging content for relevant audiences including media, external stakeholders, members, and clients. You will be assisting in the implementation of MCB’s overall internal and external communications strategy, as well as execute the engagement strategy through various channels. You will also develop and edit communication materials, including MCB’s partners and client’s content.
As the Executive, Communications and Content, you will be developing content and copy across EDM’s, social media, webinars, MCB blog and event marketing. A strong nose for news and media relations, you will be fostering meaningful relationships with media outlets, coordinating media familiarisation programs and be involved with the preparation of proactive media stories, pitches, media releases and interview briefs and backgrounds.
You will also be working closely with the Digital Marketing Executive to support on content development and ensure the MCB brand is consistent across all paid, earned and owned communications channels. This role will partner and coordinate PR and communications activities as 2023 brings exciting projects for MCB. You will be supporting on key hero projects including their own Asia Pacific Incentives and Meetings Expo (AIME), Melbourne eGuide and promotion of upcoming international and national events.

Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualification highly regarded
- Demonstrated experience in Communications, Journalism, Media, and PR
- Passion for and understanding of Melbourne’s strengths in visitor economy sector
- Consumer brand, B2B, events, or destination marketing experience would be advantageous
- Excellent communications skills and a flair for writing
- Ability to develop and adapt content for different audiences and formats
- Understanding of digital communication trends and ability to leverage and provide ongoing value to the business
- Demonstrated ability to rebuild, manage, and maintain networks and relationships
- Ability to manage competing priorities and work under pressure
- Impeccable attention to detail and a strong problem-solving ability
