ABOUT:

Due to a large increase in demand this state Government department are seeking an experienced Senior Analytics and Business Intelligence Professional to assist with deliverables across a number of new and existing programs. This role requires the ability to analyse operational requirements, understand complex processes and data structures (SQL) and articulate data utilising business intelligence tools collaboratively across the department. This role has no direct reports, though will work within a team reporting to the Director level. This role will require an experienced program / project management and financial background as the team is accountable for performance monitoring of a diverse infrastructure and grant delivery portfolio in the context of community disaster and resilience recovery. 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:
  • Support the delivery of Portfolio business intelligence and data analysis to enhance data driven decision making & performance monitoring
  • Removal of legacy, disconnected data sources & excel based manual systems / processes & or conversation into efficient & effective alternative solutions
  • Delivery of portfolio data visualisation and analytical solutions
  • Monitoring and reporting on the governance, scope, cost, time, and quality of programs and projects
  • Maintaining Governance of, and verifying, monthly progress and payment claims
  • Risk management
  • Identify (discover), develop, implement, embed and sustain systems, procedures and/or processes for portfolio management continuous improvement
SELECTION CRITERIA:
  • Advanced experience in SQL, PowerBi, MS Excel,
  • Intermediate experience in Azure Cloud Solutions, DAX, MS Office 365 suite, document control solutions, Primavera P6 (or Microsoft Projects).
  • Demonstrated ability to problem solve, understand and process data from complex structures and multiple sources to achieve desired reporting objectives (e.g. intelligent dashboards)
  • Ability to understand complex data structures and provide efficient and effective continuous improvement solutions
  • Demonstrated experience in defining problem statements and identifying opportunities in complex matrix organisations (structures)
  • Ability to identify key operational risk including emerging risk (issues) identification, escalation, prioritisation, mitigation, corrective actions, and solution generation with associated reporting
  • Ability to understand complex operational processes and articulate requirements to key stakeholders from both a technical and business backgrounds with limited system architecture and solution design
  • Demonstrated experience in providing PowerBI reporting (data visualisation) tailored to audiences from Executive Management to Operational Staff including external stakeholders (future requirements)
