About the role
The Communications and Media Specialist is responsible for creating and delivering communications strategies and capitalising on reactive opportunities. In this role, you will be working closely with all departments to drive awareness, engagement and activation and boost CBM’s profile. You will be leading on content generation, managing digital communication channels, and writing opinion pieces, case studies, and advocacy eDMs.
 
In this role, you will also be driving the development of the Inclusion Advisory Group case studies including interviewing and gathering photos. You will be responsible for creating and maintaining strong relationships with the media and writing media releases.
 
Skills & Experience
To be successful in this role you will bring:
  • Tertiary qualifications or demonstrated experience in a communications or media related discipline
  • Excellent verbal communication and written skills
  • Strong editing and proof-reading skills and strong ability to negotiate changes with technical experts, authors, and designers
  • Ability to drive and project manage key cross-organisation projects
  • Demonstrated proactive attitude with an ability to adapt to changing priorities
  • Strong time management skills with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines
  • Strong working knowledge of Twitter and Digital CMS.
  • A creative thinker and ability to bring in new ideas to support the achievement of objective
  • Experience using Canva and Adobe Premier, desirable
  • An understanding of rights-based development approaches, desirable
