About the opportunity
Reporting to the Director of Communications, and as an integral member of the Communications Department, the Communications Advisor will support a range of key internal stakeholders to ensure internal communication plans are established and delivered in line with short, medium and long term communications needs of the organisation. With leadership responsibilities of a Communications Officer, you will be accountable to:
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to support the delivery of a range of agreed strategic communication objectives
- Enhance employee engagement through a range of platforms including Workplace
- Support organisation wide projects including infrastructure developments and Royal Commissions
- Develop and deliver a small but critical range of publications (such as the Annual Report, Quality Account and other legislative and annual documents)
- Develop and deliver a range of events on behalf of the company which include the Breakfast Series, International Women’s Day, Annual General Meeting and organisation-wide Awards
- Provide support to your Media and Digital Content counterparts as required
- This role will involve some out of hours’ media and communications on-call work on an ad-hoc and rostered basis including overnight and on weekends.

- Relevant tertiary qualification (Communications / Media / Marketing, or similar).
- Proven experience developing high-quality strategic communication plans with measurable outcomes.
- High level of interpersonal skills and the ability to liaise effectively and work collaboratively, particularly with internal stakeholders.
- Experience or exposure in mentoring others or leading a team.
- Experience using digital communication platforms.
- Experience in the delivery of, or supporting the delivery of events to an internal and external audience.
- Some experience in proactive and/or reactive media management including crisis communications would be beneficial but not essential.
- High level of writing skills including in the development and delivery of publication projects from start to end.
- Excellent time management with a demonstrated ability to work on multiple projects, adapt to meet changing demands and meet deadlines.
- Ability to travel between company sites and support the delivery of communication deliverables.
- Hold a Victorian driver’s licence.
