With local R&D and assembly, the Australian subsidiary is under the new leadership of an impressive MD who's built a vision for growth into adjacent growth sectors in mining such as lithium as well as leveraging the brand into markets such as civil construction where the range of solutions has not only applications but also unique competitive advantage of highly engineered solutions across a broad range of categories including controls, sensing & monitoring, data transmission, power & communications systems and lighting & safety systems (designed for the harshest underground environments).
The Role
As BDM for New South Wales, this role will be responsible for growing relationships & share of wallet with existing customers and developing new mining sites across the state as well as partnering with distributors in NSW. Whilst the business is highly profitable with repeat and loyal customers who value the quality solutions, there's an incredibly rare amount of low-hanging fruit and opportunity for growth (I've rarely seen so much growth potential). You'll be responsible for building strong, sustainable relationships with major miners at both site and head office level, collaborating internally with technical support & R&D for product ideas, solution selling across a broad range of high-value, engineered solutions for both underground and above ground applications including cutting edge technology designed for harsh & extreme environments. With the support of an impressive Head of Sales and broader technical teams, you'll develop your sales plan and autonomously drive market development in the NSW mining sector. Uncovering sales opportunities, qualifying pre-sales leads, pricing and tender responses, attending tradeshows, product demonstrations and visiting mine sites will all be core to the role.
The Person
To be considered for this role you will currently be a BDM or Key Account Manager who has extensive experience in the mining sector (both direct to major minors as well as distributors), managing tenders, attending tradeshows, generating sales leads and qualifying and converting sales opportunities through solution selling. Ideally (but not essential) with tertiary qualifications and a passion for engineering and technical solutions will be essential as will a polished communication style, strong commercial acumen including the ability to analyse sales and customer data for trends and opportunities, a strategic mindset and strong achievement drive and resilience. The culture of this business has a family feel with long tenured, highly specialised teams including R&D, technical product support and engineers so critical you'll be highly collaborative and able to work cross-functionally to achieve customer outcomes.
