Finance Manager

We are currently seeking an interim Finance Manager to support an SME (part of a larger overall group) based in the Geelong region. Reporting to the General Manager and overseeing a small team, you will be responsible for the delivery of accurate, compliant, and complete financial information in a timely manner. This opportunity also presents as a potential temp to perm for the right candidate.

Specifically, you will be responsible for:
  • Managing the financial and management reporting for the organisation. This includes daily, weekly and monthly reporting, budgeting and forecasting, longer term financial plans.
  • Develop, review and maintain financial budgets, management reports and associated reporting.
  • Partner with key stakeholders to understand detailed spending drivers and perform ad-hoc financial analyses to support business decisions.
  • Develop and review tools, reporting templates & data infrastructure to effectively communicate, in a timely manner, spending activity and financial performance to a range of audiences, including senior leadership.
  • Overseeing Accounts Payable, Monies In, Payroll, Inventory management and inventory purchasing functions.
  • Managing and overseeing the cash flow of the company and ensuring it has the appropriate controls.
  • Managing and overseeing the company's banking arrangements.
  • Reviewing all formal finance policies and procedures
  • Risk Management to ensure the business has a solid risk framework in place
  • Providing data for statutory financial reporting, consolidation, and tax returns.
  • Managing and overseeing the taxation affairs of the organisation and liaising with the external tax firm for specialist advice.
  • Managing the Internal Auditor relationship and ensuring the organisation is compliant 
 Ideal experience may include some / all of the following:  
  • Multi country product and sales & margin reporting
  • Providing sound financial support and insights to enable the Leadership Team to make critical business decisions
  • Play a key role in the formulation of the business's strategy
  • Presenting results to non-finance people to understand
  • Investment appraisal and analysis
  • Assisting with commercial decisions including new product initiatives, margin and ROI analysis, pricing analysis etc
  • Advising and implementing best practice methods to increase revenue and reduce costs
  • Advising on market changes and providing strategic financial recommendations to the Leadership Team
