ABOUT:

Six Degrees is partnering with a state government client in building a newly created Talent Acquisition team as part of an exciting new initiative. The TA team will provide responsive and accurate onboarding services to attract and retain the right candidates to the Department as part of a large new project across Queensland.
The team of 5 staff, will recruit and process the onboarding of over 200 new staff by December being appointed under the initiative to join the Department's workforce which currently employs approximately 1500 staff across Queensland. 
The role will work heavily with internal and external partners and candidates, both blue and white collar and will require high-level interpersonal skills to successfully facilitate a smooth onboarding experience for staff and candidates.

SUMMARY:

AO4 - Out-ward facing role focussed on candidate sourcing, screening, administration and data entry related to recruitment and onboarding activities. 
AO5 - Induction focussed role, helping managers/internal stakeholders through panel interview processes. Provide general people and recruitment advice to internal stakeholders. (training and assessment background highly regarded). 
AO6 - Team leader with direct reports of the AO4/5's, managing operations and workflow of team. Focussed on quality assurance and providing strategic recruitment and induction advice to team and internal stakeholders. Reporting on recruitment activities to senior management within the department. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 

•    Undertake all recruitment processes including the maintenance of requests to hire, adverts, shortlisting candidates, scheduling  interviews and assessments and onboarding in accordance with legislative requirements.
•   Assist with the day-to-day administration of people-related data, including the preparation of regular reporting and people metrics and support/administrative services – set up meetings, payment of invoices, etc
•    Provide high quality advice and support to staff in relation to all aspects of recruitment and staff selection and establishment protocols.
•    Provide ongoing candidate management with an aim to attract appropriate talent and act as the point of contact for the resolution of applicant queries and external providers. 
•    Develop and administer systems and processes that ensure the integrity of HR information and ensure confidentiality of documentation is managed appropriately.

SELECTION CRITERIA: 

•    Knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire, a sound level of ability in the use of recruitment and learning information management systems and Microsoft Office programs. 
•    High level communication, interpersonal, liaison and consultation skills to work within the framework of a complex government department which includes a blue-collar workforce. 
•    Specialist knowledge and experience in the delivery of contemporary recruitment and selection techniques, methodologies, and services.
•    Experience in building and maintaining professional relationships to deliver high end services to a diverse range of clients. 
•    Experience in the provision of Onboarding advice in a complex environment.
•    Experience in the development of correspondence, reports, procedures and guidelines.
•    Knowledge of, or the ability to rapidly acquire, a sound level of ability in the application of VET competencies. A Certificate IV in Training and Assessment will be highly regarded. 
•    Facilitate the delivery of training, education and awareness for line managers with regard to recruitment and selection and new starters.
