About the Company
Almost 50 years old, this locally-owned engineering consultancy has 10 offices and 550 people across NSW, ACT, QLD and VIC.  They are highly experienced in civil, structural, building services and sustainability, and also have extensive expertise in emerging and niche engineering services.  Known for customising their service offerings to work standalone, or coming together as a successful multidisciplinary team, this consultancy is behind some of the country’s most complex (and in some cases, iconic) projects.  Their work spans over a wide range of sectors including aged care, health, education, hospitality, land development, commercial, industrial and residential.
 
 
About the Role
Reporting to the Managing Partner, this newly created role will be instrumental in the successful implementation of a centralised marketing function which will support all 10 offices across all engineering disciplines.  Working closely with the Partnership, this role will lead a single view of brand and marketing to elevate the brand, deliver consistent messaging and solidify its position as a thought leader.  Leading a growing and geographically dispersed marketing team, the role will operate as an enabler of the firm’s growth channels including business development and sales performance, talent attraction and retention and the maintenance of a progressive ‘top of tier 2’ brand in the Engineering Consulting category. Working in partnership with the local marketing, people and culture and business development teams, the successful candidate will leverage the brand and promote the firm’s vast discipline and service offerings. You will be an active ambassador for the Purpose, Vision and Values, ensuring they are visible and continually embedded in everyday activities, including every aspect of the business development, recruitment and retention pipeline.
 
 
About You
As the strategic marketing leader for the firm, you are an innovative, idea-laden marketer with deep technical experience.  With the ability to see the bigger picture, then build out a robust strategy to deliver on innovation and growth, this role would suit those who are just as effective on the tools as much as developing and championing the long-term vision and strategy.  You are a confident yet humble marketer, holding your own when engaging with executive stakeholders.  You are an excellent and compelling communicator who can support the business through this growth period and comfortably educate internal leaders.
 
Core competencies
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience work as a marketing professional at a senior level, ideally with experience in professional services
  • Experience in leading marketing, campaign and content development in a B2B environment
  • Understand brand strategy and implementation across both external and internal aspects (client and EVP)
  • Experience of tracking and reporting on impacts of communications.
  • Commercially focused approach - proficient with data analysis, forecasting, and budgeting.
  • Pragmatic leader that creates stability and reassurance through consistency and continual improvement.
  • Demonstrated ability to self-manage and prioritise workloads with good project management skills, including initiative, problem-solving, and meeting objectives.
