About the business
This leading private equity backed local manufacturer and distributer of industrial capital equipment provide innovative products and solutions to the environmental services, manufacturing, and retail markets. As a result of business growth and increasing organisational complexity, they are looking to appoint a Head of Safety in a newly created role blending a mix of change management, boots on the ground safety and big picture OH&S strategy. With Safety being taken seriously from the top down, this household name in their market patch are well placed for growth and increased market share.
About the role
Reporting directly into the CEO, this opportunity will have you working collaboratively with a commercially sound executive leader to build a strong safety culture across the 3 core business offerings based out of their Eastern Suburbs location. A business critical individual contributor role, the remit focusses on embedding safety at the heart of the organisation, working with a diverse risk portfolio and full ownership of the safety program. You will be walking into an environment with sound foundations including external accreditations and a positive safety record, the business is looking to take that next step, going from "good" to "better" and increase its capability.
What we are looking for
You will either have had accountability for a site (or multi-site) operational safety footprint before as a well established safety leader, or are currently at the "Business Partner" or equivalent level looking to take that next step.
In a market saturated with employers crying out for increasing OH&S capability you might be asking "why is this the role for me?" This role gives a true SME blend of a more lean structure, meaning you can make considered change happen with a shorter lead time than in complex globals. Working with an executive leader who sees safety as a true business priority, you will be supported in driving cultural and process change. Highly desired hybrid working arrangements are on offer, increasingly harder to find in the senior leadership space within the manufacturing sector. For someone who is looking for more than a caretaker role, you will get to embed yourself at the heart of the business and make safety a reality, blending the day to day boots on the ground presence with bigger picture thinking. In a business primed to continue its growth journey boosted by an influx of highly capable talent, you will be surrounded by engaged peers.
