About the Company
Our client is a medium sized business in the automotive industrial space and are part of a global company. They are looking for a qualified accountant to join their team for this 6 month fixed term contract, which offers a lot of flexibility with a hybrid working model and an office based in Dandenong. There is also potential for an extension or permanent opportunity.


About the role
The Accountant position reports into the Financial Accounting Manager who oversees the accounting team, of which there are approximately seven people. The role is responsible for month end, year-end, reconciliation, managing a GL, and audit support. It is an exciting opportunity for someone who is looking for a challenge and to provide process improvements and changes. They are looking for an ambitious and eager individual who wants to continue to grow and develop their career. 

Key responsibilities include: 
  • Assist in submitting month end data and ensure year end audits in relation to GL are on a timely basis per corporate requirements
  • Oversee monthly transactional accounting ensuring timeliness, accuracy, completeness and compliance with corporate policy
  • Be part of the team that ensures effective and timely transactions and reconciliations; financial integrity of the books and assisting effective cash management
  • Responsible for preparation of assigned balance sheet reconciliations and ledger GL postings within the team including documentation and adherence to policy
  • Participate in system implementations within ANZ area to ensure finance and business needs are met
  • Provide the focal point for accounting advice and technical expertise in ledger accounting to internal customers

About you 
  • CPA qualified – required
  • Open to someone coming straight out of chartered 
  • You are eager to learn and grow your career with plenty of opportunity internally
  • You have exposure to SAP, desirable but not necessary
