This business was established in Melbourne over 50 years ago and is a leading provider of aftermarket automotive accessories across Australia and New Zealand. With strong foundations and a comprehensive product suite there is a requirement for a strong leader to come in and drive transformation and change and an overall capability lift to ensure the business can deliver the next phase of growth.
About the Role
Reporting to the CEO, the General Manager - Automotive will be responsible for developing and executing sales strategies, building strong customer relationships and driving overall growth (topline and bottom-line). There is an immediate need to put in place more defined structures and processes, review and rationalise the product set and work closely with customers to align their business to the changing market.
Key responsibilities include
• Redefine the organisations 'go to market' strategy with a clear view on the current state of play and who the business wants to be known for moving forward
• Implement a long term strategy that aligns with the overall business objectives and execute with your team
• Review and rationalise the current product suite and align withurrent market trends
• Develop and lead a high-performance team, transitioning the team to a modern, data driven commercial team
• Utilise data & customer insights to rationalise the product range and put together a core product range that drives 'sticky' relationships with the larger automotive groups
• Leading the sales expansion and growth strategies, delivering sales unit and revenue growth.
• Collaborating with the operations and supply chain teams to meet the evolving needs of the business.
• Championing technological advancements and digital solutions to drive revenue improvements.
The Person
• Has successfully taken a similar business through a significant transformational period and from this delivered strong commercial outcomes
• Strong experience across the automotive parts & accessories sector in a senior commercial leadership role
• Proven track record in developing and executing successful sales strategies.
• Passionate about driving profitable growth and achieving business objectives.
• Commercially oriented with a strategic mindset.
• Energetic, inspiring, and capable of leading high-performance teams.
• Embraces technology and embraces change for continuous improvement.
