Head of Merchandising and Supplier Engagement
Tasmanian Independent Retailers is a highly established and successful retail organisation with combined turnovers in excess of $500m. They provide centralised support to many independent and family-owned retail businesses across Tasmania. Their service offering includes providing merchandising, operational and marketing support.
They are looking to hire a Head of Merchandising and Supplier Engagement, to be based in Launceston, who will report directly to the CEO as a member of close knit, supportive and high functioning Senior Leadership Team. The Head of Merchandising will play a pivotal role in the organisation through the development and implementation of the merchandise strategy, supported by a direct team and cross functional team.
The key focuses of the role will include the continued optimisation of warehouse operations and space management, developing the range architecture, pricing strategy and go-to-market plans for the merchandise portfolio, developing and managing strong partnerships with a wide range of suppliers to lead to mutually beneficial commercial outcomes and building strong relationships with the retailers across Tasmania, directly and through the Field Team.
The ideal candidate will have worked in a merchandise leadership role and have had exposure to the independent grocery industry. They will have strong commercial acumen with a deep understanding of retail & wholesale business and market dynamics alongside exceptional leadership and relationship building skills. This role will suit someone who enjoys working independently and as part of a team and thrives in an environment that provides you with the accountability to drive business outcomes.
