EHS Manager

Location: melbourne
Salary: $120000 - $140000 per annum
Job Type: permanent
Contact: Robert Scacco
About the business:

Our client is a global manufacturer of speciality chemicals with a long and rich history in the local market. With an organisational wide commitment to quality and safety of its product and its people, the business is well placed to continue as a major player in their categories, with ongoing operational expansion and investment in their people.

About the opportunity:

Reporting into the Regional EHS Manager, this role is situated across 2 sites, primarily based in Melbourne's south east. Structurally, you will form part of a EHS team of 4, with 2x direct reports into the role. Working closely with the manufacturing and technical SBUs, you will be responsible for driving site wide compliance to EHS regulation and business specific standards. Bringing a CI mindset for safety, you will drive review of procedures and processes in pursuit of ongoing excellence in both OH&S and enviro/sustainability areas.

With a clear pathway to senior progression within the business, and an exciting capital works project at play, this is a rare opportunity to get your foot in the door at a Tier 1 global business, mentored by an executive safety leader looking to grow and develop the capability of their team and the individual in this role.

What we are looking for:

This role is well suited to an EHS professional with a manufacturing or operational background who currently operates at the business partner/supervisory/leadership level and is looking for a step up in scope of role. A strong working knowledge of key EHS frameworks, regulations and standards are critical in this role. DG or MHF experience is well regarded but not essential in this role. Practical safety in design or process safety experience is also seen as a bonus.

Why this role?

This role presents a rare opportunity to join an organisation with well established safety systems, procedures and governance already in place where you can improve around the edges rather than building something from scratch. Working with a strong senior leader in the EHS space, you will be mentored with a view to ongoing progression opportunities while owning the site safety function.
