In this newly created role as Commercial Partnerships & Events Executive, your primary focus will be to lead and develop all facets of the events sales business from the ground up. You will work closely with the Commercial Manager to attract and retain corporate sector partners for gallery experiences and owned events, whilst contributing to the strategic planning and development of the commercial function.  You will also be responsible for developing and executing effective sales strategies to promote THE LUME Melbourne and showcase its unique offerings. Simultaneously, you will proactively identify and cultivate new event and partnership prospects, while maintaining a robust pipeline of opportunities.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Create professional proposals to prospect new business
  • Meet with prospects and understand clients' specific needs and objectives
  • Conduct market research to identify potential clients and target industries
  • Work closely with our event planning and marketing teams to build the awareness of THE LUME Melbourne as a unique consideration for events
  • Act as a liaison between the client and in-house creative content specialists, event operations and other internal stakeholders as required.
  • Collaborate and communicate with MCEC team to ensure the experience from the clients perspective is of exception quality and exceeds expectations
  • Take an active part in negotiations with clients to secure contracts and close deals
  • Ensure favourable terms and conditions that align with company goals
  • Assist with HOA contracting & Benefits Schedules
  • Assist Commercial Manager to nurture and service current partners, and engage in renewal negotiations
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, competitor activities, and emerging opportunities in the events space
  • Manage all weekly/fortnightly WIPs with Partners, ensuring Agendas and Minutes are circulated
  • Provide regular prospecting and sales reports, market insights, and performance metrics to senior management.

Key Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications in business or similar
  • Exposure to solutions sales within the corporate partnerships or sponsorships space
  • Confident self starter, with proven experience in a sales or business development role
  • Commercial mindset is crucial, with all sales decisions made based on ROI
  • A strong understanding and interest of the arts, culture, and entertainment landscape
  • Passionate about developing strong, collaborative and lasting relationships
  • Ability to work at a fast pace and multi task
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team setting
